newsletters
How do businesses retain their customers' attention?
There are a number of ways of course but developing valid reasons for keeping in touch with past and present customers can be useful. Customers tend to see positive marketing activity such as creating and sending out a regular newsletter as a sign that a business is vital and healthy.
From concept to copywriting, from photography to artwork and print, we can produce your company newsletter for either traditional mail or for email.
response advertising
The right message to the right people at the right time - advertising should be easy!
For many companies the whole point of advertising is to get the phones ringing and the website set alight.
Good response advertising not only depends upon solid media planning, but also upon an ad that works.
A proposition that will spark interest, just enough relevant information to make the benefits clear and a direct and positive call to action are all essential elements of response advertising.
antidote copywriting
Antidote wanted their literature to be more accessible and to have greater impact.
Already accomplished writers and with strong links with a good graphic designer they asked us to help.
We encouraged them to see their literature from their clients' perspectives - to be a little more objective.
We also encouraged them to adopt a better defined structure to their literature with a clear heading and proposition, information about their products and a strong sign off.
We then worked with their designer to produce a strong set of literature - and all to a very tight deadline!
westin email campaign
In addition to developing websites and providing managed email campaigns, we can also supply html templates for our clients to use themselves.
For many businesses email marketing is an increasingly important tool in reaching new markets and in keeping in touch with existing customers. At a fraction of the price of traditional direct mail it often makes sense.
Westin asked us to develop a html template for use from their own email system. Additionally the template had to have synergy with their website (which we had previously developed) and to provide a clear sales message that they had defined.
croydon BID brand development
The newly established Croydon Business Improvement District asked us to supply concepts for their brand.
We worked at achieving a balance for a brand that had to be distinctive and memorable but acceptable to SMEs and large corporates alike. It also had to achieve high recall within a small timescale.
We developed a brand with distinct elements including a badge that could have many applications from appearing upon members stationery to working well on large format graphics and banners.
As a small insight into the process, we adopted lower case lettering for the BID initials as these created a strong visual design.
banners and exhibitions
In addition to designing and building larger bespoke trade exhibition stands we also create banners and other large format graphics for exhibitions.
Robot Coupe needed a series of graphic banners that displayed the range of their equipment and give an indication of what each machine did.
We used their existing product images and sourced food photography from one of our main photo libraries to create a series of banners that could be mixed and matched for use on shell scheme stands of differing sizes.
The self-supporting stands could also be used to create a stand alone exhibition space.
st andrew's school
Just like SMEs and other commercial organisations, schools have to communicate with their potential market effectively.
But schools are not commercial organisations and their priorities are clearly different.
Starting with creating great photography around the school and searching their own photo database for suitable images we created a prospectus, stationery and supporting literature that portrayed the school as a happy and vibrant learning environment.
We were also careful in ensuring that the copy was parent - not school - focused.
the car hire company launch
Bellhire - the largest franchisee of a major carhire brand - recently decided to go it alone and they asked us to create a brand, website and supporting material to launch.
Within an incredibly competitive market that is dominated by a few huge brands as well as being flooded with smaller suppliers, the real challenge was to create a brand that would hold its own.
Starting with finding a name that left no doubt about the product, we then developed the brand, stationery and website.
We moved on to supporting leaflets and promos and made sure that all of the marketing and communication material was friendly, accessible and professional.
lacanche photography
Great photography can set a brochure apart.
Over many years of working with Lacanche we have commissioned photography on many occasions. When dealing with a premier product such as Lacanche - a hand-built French range cooker - the photography has to be perfect.
Outstanding food photography is perhaps one of the most challenging of disciplines for a photographer.
In addition to commissioning photography we also source library photography and work with clients' existing photography.
ptarmigan promotion
The Ptarmigan [pronounced: tarmigan] is a bird found in cold northern habitats.
Ptarmigan press asked us to produce a copy light brochure that demonstrated the variety of their litho and digital printing products using their existing branding.
Using a combination of ptarmigan habitat images that we sourced and lifting out key messages in spot-uv against matt black, we created a brochure that says a lot by saying very little.
We also created a mousemat using graphics to replicate the spot-uv effect.
beverley holiday concepts
The holiday market is incredibly competitive.
Beverley Holidays needed a new brochure to replace their tired literature that wasn't getting the job done.
They asked us to produce concepts for a new holiday brochure that looked inviting, contemporary, fully explained the Beverley Holiday experience and was in keeping with the character of the company and target market.
We started with 'I want to be there' photography and a clean a bright colour palette.
haulfryn advertising campaign
Haulfryn needed a national advertising campaign to promote their residential holiday parks throughout England and Wales.
Using the main national press we planned and booked a split campaign to target the northern and southern markets separately.
In addition we created a series of advertisements for individual parks to target regional markets.
A combination of good media planning and buying and strong creative work and copy created a highly successful national advertising campaign.
robot coupe literature
As a leading manufacturer within the commercial catering industry, Robot Coupe has an unbeatable name and product range.
Over many years we've created product catalogues and promotions literature to promote that range to best effect.
The 2009 Dealer Catalogue is an 80 page catalogue with tabbing throughout. Printed as two versions (with and without prices) in reasonably high volume, the Dealer Catalogue is a great example of how design for print and our expertise in print management combine for an excellent end result.
westin literature
When Westin first approached us they described themselves as 'a bunch of northern metal-bashers'. That's also how they presented themselves.
Getting their branding, literature, advertising, PR and exhibitions right has been instrumental in their year on year growth.
Westin were never really just 'metal-bashers'. With an exclusive product range and bespoke build service, they are kitchen extraction experts.
Now they have a brand and promotional literature and material to match.
brand development
Brands are much more than logos, we know, but here is a selection of some of the logos that we have developed for a wide variety of clients.
Sometimes we're given a completely clean sheet and the opportunity to start developing a new brand from scratch. More often we have to work with an existing brand and develop it sympathetically.
Whatever our starting point our aim is to create a brand that is appropriate to the character of the business or product it represents.
Further to logo design we cover all aspects of brand development including stationery, signage and even the odd tip on answering the phone!
